Day of Surgery

What you need to know for the Day of Surgery:

Check-in – When you arrive at our center we ask that you check-in at the registration desk to verify personal, escort and insurance information.

After checking in at our center, you will be escorted by a nurse into the pre-operative area.  You will be asked to verify your name and birthdate as well as the surgery that is being consented.  The nurse will conduct a health assessment and start an intravenous line.  An anesthesiologist will discuss your anesthesia and answer any questions that you may have.

Your family member or escort will be able to spend time with you before your procedure after this assessment phase is complete.  At the appropriate time, you will be escorted to the operating room by a nurse and an anesthesia provider.  During your surgery, your escort will stay in the waiting room and will rejoin you in the Recovery Room when you are awake and ready for discharge.
